Opera delivers the Web on KDDI's 2007 summer series

Oslo, Norway and Tokyo, Japan - May 22, 2007

Oslo, Norway and Tokyo, Japan - May 22, 2007 - Opera Software and KDDI, Japan's leading 3G operator, today announced that the Opera Mobile™ browser will be shipped on 12 new mobile phones in KDDI's featured 2007 summer series. Since KDDI and Opera first entered into a partnership in August 2004 to fulfill the promise of 3G capabilities in Japan, the browser has been included on 40 KDDI phones.

Opera Mobile is included as the 'PC Site Viewer' on KDDI's handsets. The full browser is continuing to bring a great user experience with tabbed browsing and Flash support on the latest models.

KDDI was the number one in subscriber growth and customer satisfaction among Japanese 3G operators in 2006. "I think part of the reason why they achieve such strong growth is their pursuit of uncompromising quality in user-oriented products," says Jon S. von Tetzchner, CEO, Opera Software. "Opera is working with KDDI to offer a very high-quality full browser to their customers, and we are very happy to have been able to offer this browser since the Casio W21CA came out in December of 2004."

The Opera Mobile browser will be included on the following BREW-based devices for KDDI's 2007 summer series:

  • Sanyo W52SA
  • Sanyo W53SA
